The task: Development of a CleanUp automat for an automated sample preparation in trace analysis. Among other things, it was important that the same glassware and chemicals can be used as in a comparable manual device. Furthermore, the system shall be flexible in use – as for example with other glass containers – or with its own sequence programs. All used parts need to be extremely chemical-resistant. No lubricants shall adhere to the guide rails to avoid contamination to the samples. Exclusively installed are linear guides and energy chains from igus®: Guides from the drylin® N and drylin® T program, drylin® toothed belt axles and drylin® GRW steering rack axles. The plain bearing technology with iglidur® materials is almost maintenance-free. The precision, which can be achieved with these systems, is perfect for this application.
